CABINET MEETING, FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 1952
11:00 AM
Commerce absent
Solicitor Gen for Justice
THE PRESIDENT
Indicated confidence in members of Cabinet who have been under attack - Acheson - Snyder & Harriman.
GEN BRADLEY
Gave report on truce negotiations in Korea. Vast majority of North Korean prisoners do not want to be returned to North Korea. This is the stumbling block in the negotiations.
BARKLEY
Senate is now working on Treasury appropriations.
ACHESON
The current revolution in Bolivia is serious. It is financed and supported by Peron. The American owned tin mines will probably be nationalized which will cause great repercussions in our relations with Bolivia and other Latin American countries.
In Iran we will resume providing armed aid. This is a retreat by Mossadegh. Egyptian situation is a little brighter than a few weeks ago - although British are completely without any influence in Egypt.
LOVETT
Is even more worried about Korean situation than Gen Bradley.
BRANNAN
We will have the largest wheat winter crop this year in our history. Corn supply is a little short this year.
