Dear Bessie:
I am enclosing you a rough map of the road. You'll notice that there are two rock roads branch off going east before you get to Grandview.
Remember to go south every time the rock road goes south and you can't miss the place. Start from 47th and Troost and come as directed, and when you have come eleven or twelve miles you'll come to a long maple grove on the left of the road with a cemetery in front-that is where you get off.
Wish you'd come to dinner. We'll be looking out for you so be sure and come.
This is all I could find to write on and the low-down, ornery paper hangers (who promised to come two weeks ago came today and I have to run.
