Description
Former President Harry S. Truman (second from left) is shown with Jackson McBride (right) of Honolulu, Hawaii, standing in front of the "Liberty Bell Brigade" truck, parked at the north entrance to the Harry S. Truman Library. The truck is carrying a replica of the Liberty Bell, and Mr. McBride is stumping for statehood from the coast to Washington, D.C. A sign on the truck proclaims, "It tolls for thee. Hawaii's Liberty Bell. Help free our statehood bill. Write, wire, call your Congressman." From: Anne L. Hayes
