Description
Presentation of a helmet bearing the insignia of the 35th Division and worn by Harry S. Truman during his overseas service in World War I to the War Memorial Museum of Virginia. Lt. Col. Nelson C. Overton (3rd from right), past Departmental Commander for the American Legion, receives the helmet from John Abbitt, chairman of a committee of the procurement division. Looking on, left to right, are J. E. Carpenter, C.T. Brooks, W.E. Casey, Bill Bailey, Charles K. Hutchens, and Major George B. Collings.
