On the bandstand in Emancipation Park, under the sign "Welcome President Truman, Champion of Human Rights," Governor William Hastie, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, welcomes President Harry S. Truman to the island. President Truman is seated behind Governor Hastie. All others are unidentified. From: Naval Photo Center, sent to the Truman Library by the National Archives.
