This is a photograph of First Lieutenant Walter Slagle. A handwritten note on the back of the photo reads: "1st Lt. Walter G. Slagle, taken a Camp Mills, N.Y., April 1919." The photograph is part of a collection belonging to Harry S. Truman from the time he spent in France during World War I.
