John Spottswood (left) watches as former President Lyndon Johnson (right) prepares to dance with Margaret Truman Daniel (center), assisted by E. Clifton Daniel, Jr., at the Inaugural Ball for President Richard Nixon at the Mayflower Hotel. Note on the back of the photograph reads: "'Come on, Margaret, let's dance.' . . .Lyndon B. Johnson . .is about to lift Margaret bodily out of a box at the Mayflower Hotel Inaugural Ball." Picture has some discoloration on Spottswood's face. Part of a group of photographs belonging to E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. which he used in his book, "Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen: A Memoir."
