Description
This photograph is identified on the back as "My first battle position outside of Verdun." The bottom right corner of the photograph is damaged. The exact location is unknown but Truman's Battery D was entrenched near the town of Saulxures, France in the Vosges Mountains. The photograph is part of a collection belonging to Harry S. Truman from the time he spent in France during World War I.
