Description

A large crowd gathers for the christening and launching ceremonies for the USS Missouri at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York. On the platform, left to right are: Jane Tunstall Lingo, Margaret Truman, Rear Admiral Sherman S. Kennedy, and Rear Admiral Monroe Kelly. Standing in front of the platform, left is Bess Truman, left center is Drucie Snyder, and center is Senator Harry S. Truman.
