Truman makes a statement to promote famine relief in Europe in the Rose Garden at the White House. Front row, left to right: Major General Glen Edgerton; President Truman; executive director of CARE, Lt. General William N. Haskell. The men in the back row are not specifically identified, but according to the president's appointment book, Walter A. Joyce and Tom Burland also attended this event.
