Description

Former President Harry S. Truman, who will celebrate his 71st birthday Sunday, posed for this birthday portrait Friday in his Kansas City, Missouri, office at the Federal Reserve Bank. Sunday Mr. Harry S. Truman will use a gold-plated shovel to break ground for the memorial library which will house his three million presidential papers. Former Secretary of State Dean Acheson and former Secretary of the Treasury John Snyder are scheduled to head old Washington associates attending the ceremony in Slover Park in Independence, Missouri.
