Description

Former President Harry S. Truman gives remarks to the Midwestern Division of the World Youth Congress, Jewish Youth. He is speaking from the auditorium at the Truman Library.  He speaks of the importance of studying U. S. history and stepping up to responsibility for taking care of our government. He mentions they can see gifts from the first President of Israel. His remarks begin about 5:00 into the recording. Before beginning his remarks, former president Harry S. Truman is presented with a Shofar by United Synagogue Youth convention co-chair, Joseph Meth; Rabbi (Sachs?) explains the significance of the Shofar; and Rabbi (Rosenblum?) sounds the Shofar.
