Rows of bodies of dead inmates fill yard of Lager Nordhausen, a Gestapo Concentration Camp near Nordhausen, Germany. The photograph, according to the cameraman, shows less than half of the bodies of the several hundred inmates who died of starvation or were shot by Gestapo men at the camp. Hospital cribs at Buchenwald concentration camp

Prisoners in the "hospital" cribs at Buchenwald concentration camp. This photo is one of a group of photographs taken shortly after the liberation of the infamous camp near Weimar, Germany. The photographs were taken by a rehabilitation officer of the U.S. Army Chief Surgeon's office when he arrived at the camp three days after Weimar was taken by the U.S. Third Army.
