An Old-Style Plow Used in India

This is an example of the classic plow of India. It scratches without actually turning the soil. The new-type plow being introduced all over India does a better job. The government of India and the Point Four Program cooperated in the community development program to help improve agriculture, health, and education in India.

Constructing a Well in Iran

Near the village of Mayan, Iran, unidentified villagers are harvesting building materials from an ancient caravan station to construct a standpipe for a well. The shallow well was constructed with the assistance of the Point Four program and the Technical Cooperation Administration so that villagers would have a better source of clean water.
