An American map titled "Central Europe and the Mediterranean." The map shows railways, canals, elevations, relief, swamps, glaciers, wadies, boundaries as of September 1, 1939, and other details. This map is one of a set of maps that have been removed from an album titled "United States of America: United States Army Air Forces." Another note within the album read: "Prepared by Cartographic Branch, AC/AS-2 Intelligence."

Map of the Reaches of New York City

An American map titled "The Reaches of New York City." The map shows historic monuments, shrines, ruins, noteworthy architecture, towns, churches, battlefields, county seats, highways, railroads, canals, and other details. Small pictures around the border show Alexander Hamilton, Robert Fulton, Thomas Edison, Henry Hudson, Grover Cleveland, Nathan Hale, among other people and places. Included is an inset map that shows South New Jersey and Delaware Bay.

Included are several inset maps of the Middle East. This map is one of a set of maps that have been removed from an album titled "United States of America: United States Army Air Forces." Another note within the album read: "Prepared by Cartographic Branch, AC/AS-2 Intelligence."

An American map titled "Historic and Scenic Reaches of the Nation's Capital." The map shows battlefields, ruins, churches, monuments, noteworthy architecture, shrines, hunting and racing centers, county seats, elevations, highways, railroads, and other details. Small pictures around the border show George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Edgar Allen Poe, and other persons and places.

Chart of the Pacific Theater

An American chart of the Pacific theater of operations. This chart includes a short history of Japan, critical events prior to Pearl Harbor, and the campaigns in the Pacific theater through the end of World War II. Photos of political and military leaders, maps, and unit insignia accompany the text.

Map of Soviet Zones of Occupation and Influence

A companion to M643, this hand-drawn map shows the movement of Soviet troops, the concentration of Soviet troops within specific areas, Soviet command posts along with its commanding officers, and several areas marked with a question mark. Handwriting on the back indicates that this map is part of the Official File. The handwriting reads in part: "Removed from the O.F. 463 Misc." Additional handwriting on the back reads: "Letter of July 3, 1946. Sketch No. 2 to 'General Military Situation in the Soviet Zones of Occupation and Influence in Europe.'"

Chart of the European Theater

An American chart of the European theater of operations. This chart includes a history from the end of World War I until the end of World War II in the European theater. Photos of political and military leaders, maps, and unit insignia accompany the text. Specifically, the maps complement the printed text by showing the movement of Allied and German forces throughout the Western, Eastern, Italian, and Northern African fronts. Specific units and/or their commanding officers are often noted on the maps along with dates of specific events.

Map of the Pacific Theater

The map, titled "The War Against Japan: Advance Across the Pacific and the Situation on 14 August 45," shows the Japanese perimeter as of August 1945, the maximum Japanese perimeter and phase perimeters, Japanese bases by-passed or neutralized, points of Allied and Japanese engagement, points of Allied advance, points of Allied air attack, areas under various degrees of Allied air attack, principal points of Allied occupation and bases, and the atomic bomb targets. Handwriting on the back indicates that this map is part of the Official File.

Map of Japanese Expansion

The map, titled "Japanese Expansion," shows the Japanese perimeter in 1868 and after their surrender, the perimeter at successive dates, the perimeter as of November 1941, the perimeter as of July 1942, the planned perimeter, the points of Japanese advance or strike, principal points occupied by the Japanese, points of Japanese and Allied engagement, and the location of Allied bases. Handwriting on the back indicates that this map is part of the Official File. The handwriting reads: "Official File: 651, Ltr: 8/15/45." This map appears to be a photocopy.
