Senator Lyndon B. Johnson emphasizes a point in serious conversation with former President Harry S. Truman. Senator Johnson, Senate Democratic leader and House Speaker Sam Rayburn, both from Texas, are among key Democrats opposing formation of a permanent advisory committee to make their party "more responsive and more responsible to its members and to the public."
