Description

Bess Truman (at right) receives the American flag that draped the casket of former President Harry S. Truman. Next to Mrs. Truman is her daughter, Margaret Truman Daniel. E. Clifton Daniel, Jr., stands farther left with his son, Thomas Washington Daniel. Behind them stand the other grandsons, left to right: Harrison Gates Daniel (partially obscured), Clifton Truman Daniel, and William Wallace Daniel. In the background is a military band. President Truman's casket is in the center of the picture. The former president was buried in the courtyard of the Harry S. Truman Library in Independence, Missouri.
