Secretary of State Dean Acheson addresses the United Nations General Assembly. Mr. Acheson proposed a U. N. program to be backed by military force to oppose aggression anywhere world over, and marked a mile-stone in American policy by advocating land-reform in backward areas.

Secretary of State Dean Acheson takes the floor of the United Nations General Assembly at its first session. After a blistering attack had been launched on him by Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Vishinsky, on China policy, Mr. Acheson suggested proposals to seat a representative of the Communist Chinese regime be considered later in the session.

Secretary of State Dean Acheson leaves the White House after a conference with President Truman. Although Acheson refused to comment, it is presumed they discussed the shooting down of a Soviet-marked bomber by a U. N. fighter plane off the West Cost of Korea.

S. is doing everything possible to convince the Chinese Reds that America has no aggressive intentions toward China.

Secretary of State Dean Acheson is shown following his press conference today at which he branded the North Korean attacks the most cynical, brutal, naked, and unprovoked aggression that could ever occur. He warned that this was the time for very steady nerves and sober actions.
