Map of Northern Scotland

A German to English legend, along with other text, has been partially cut off. This map is located on the back of M1820.

Map of the London Underground

The map of the London Underground shows various lines, stations, escalator connections, and interchange stations. The tinted area highlights the stations near American Red Cross clubs. Printed text, accompanied by photographs, gives details on some of these clubs. This map is located on the back of M1448.

Map of Paris

A brochure titled "The United States Army: Guide for Leave Troops." The larger map of Paris shows roads, railroad stations, museums, main buildings, parks, churches, sporting venues, theaters, subway lines and stations, subway lines under construction, and other details. The smaller map of the Paris Metro shows each line and its stops. Printed messages from several Commanding Generals relay expectations and standards that the soldier must attend to. Other printed text includes a short history on some of the main buildings and an index that locates areas on the larger map.

Map of Bridges on the Western Front

Two maps of Western Europe that have been taped together. The map shows international boundaries, railways, tramways, electrified lines, tunnels, stations, and other details. Areas circled and numbered, in blue and red, signify bridges and bridges destroyed or damaged. A long red pencil line through Western France is accompanied by an annotation that states: "Bridges already attacked under SHAEF 'Overlord' Programme."

Map of the 3rd Battalion Fil-American Irregular Troops

A copy of a hand-drawn map that focuses on the operations and works accomplished by the 3rd Battalion Fil-American Irregular Troops (FAIT) during and after the Allied landing at Nasugbu, Batangas, Philippines in 1945. Specifically, this map describes and plots the engineering efforts of the 3rd Battalion FAIT, which was attached to the Corps of Engineers, 11th Airborne Division. Also included are details on Japanese positions and numbers during and after the landing. Handwriting on the back identifies this map as being part of the Official File.

Map of the 35th Division

An American map titled "Santa Fe: 35th Infantry Division." The map of the Western front shows the route taken by the 35th Division from its landing at Omaha to V.E. Day in Hanover, Germany. Printed text lists the towns the 35th Division passed through, along with the dates they were occupied, cleared, taken, captured, and liberated. Other text lists the battle stars earned by the Division, campaigns waged, and Division interaction with other Allied units and the German Army. Handwriting on the back indicates that this map is part of the President's Personal File.

Map of American and Soviet Zones of Operation

An American map of the Pacific Ocean that shows the coastline of North America, Asia, and Australia. Handwriting and markings, in red and blue pencil, describe agreements made between the United States and the Soviet Union at the Potsdam Conference. The Sea of Okhotsk is circled and is described as follows: "To be a zone of mutual operations, according to mutual agreements-Terminal, Page 328." Separate zones of operation in the Sea of Japan are identified by red pencil markings (Soviet Union) and blue pencil markings (United States).
