In this interview, two of Mr. Truman's friends, Eddie Meisburger and Eugene Donnelly, reflect on Harry S. Truman as soldier and president. Meisburger, a sergeant in Captain Truman's Battery D, recalls his experience with Truman in World War I. Donnelly reflects on Mr. Truman as president.

:00   Eddie Meisburger, who was a sergeant in Battery D, recalls that he first met Captain Harry S. Truman at Camp Coetquidan on July 11, 1918 and then talks about some of their experiences during World War I, including the day Captain Truman ordered him to read the cease-fire armistice orders to the men.
1:50   Eugene Donnelly is asked by interviewer to state how he would rate Mr. Truman as a President. He says that because he was a Battery D man he would have to rate him No 1. He recalls that during the dedi- cation of the Harry S. Truman Library that Eleanore Roosevelt expressed her belief that he was one of the great presidents.
