PRESIDENT TRUMAN’S VISIT TO BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA 6/12/1948 Home movie donated by Frank Hardina. Narrated by donor Frank Hardina. Begins with a view of Darlene Hardina, then views a motorcade through Berkeley, California. President Truman is riding in a convertible, sitting on the back of the car. Narrator states “Give ‘Em Hell Harry, sitting up there like a pigeon” as the President’s vehicle passes. This was copied from an original 8mm home movie. VHS tape

PRESIDENT TRUMAN’S ANNOUNCEMENT OF DROPPING THE ATOM BOMB ON HIROSHIMA, JAPAN. National Archives duplication # 111ADC9865 8/6/1945 Donated by: Bill Lambers, a copy of a film he ordered from the National Archives. President Truman sitting at a desk, reads the statement announcing the atomic bomb drop on Hiroshima. This may be a rehearsal, because it shows laughter. President Truman is aboard the U. S. S. Mrs. Gordon’s father, Ray Wills, owned the service station at Maple and Union where Mr. Truman had cars serviced. Walt Bodine – K. C. radio/TV personality.
