CAMPAIGN 1996: FUNDING FOR EDUCATION October 3, 1996. NBC News with Tom Brokaw. This news segment was part of an NBC news special series following Highway 40 through America. In the segment featuring Independence, there was filming done at the Truman Library, which was not included in the segment. The segment instead dealt with a visit to an American History classroom in the Independence school system, where issues discussing the funding of education was discussed. There were also interviews with people in the school district who believe that "education is Independence.” VHS videotape.

Clay Bauske is interviewed at the Truman Library by Channel 5, KCTV, Kansas City, about an exhibit of Time Magazine portraits on loan from the National Portrait Gallery. This was taped September 16, 1996. Another segment features Dr. George Curtis being interviewed about the "I'm Just Mild About Harry" exhibit at the Truman Library. “NAVY MARINE CORPS NEWS, PROGRAM 831" July 25, 1998, program covering the commissioning ceremony for the U. S. S. Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. This program shows brief segments of the ceremony, including a couple of portions of President Bill Clinton's speech. There are also segments on the building of airplanes that are used aboard the ship (the Superhornet airplane). how aircraft carriers are built, and what its like to serve aboard an aircraft carrier. Segments of interviews with Truman Library Supervisory Archivist Ray Geselbracht and Sue Gentry are included. VHS videotape.

OMAR BRADLEY AND D-DAY 6-15-94. A&E Biography. This is the story of General Omar Bradley's career in WWII. Having never seen battle, Bradley leads US forces to victory at Omaha Beach in the Normady Invasion. Post war, President Truman asks Bradley to head the Veterans Administration. Also under Truman, Bradley replaces Eisenhower as Army Chief of Staff during the creation of the new Armed Forces Unification Act and the new Department of Defense. Bradley goes on to lead the US in NATO, under Truman approval. When Truman relieves General MacArthur under advisement from General Bradley, Truman shortly after promotes Bradley to General of the Army, the last to be promoted to a 5th star. VHS tape.

GEORGE MARSHALL AND THE AMERICAN CENTURY Produced by Great Projects Film Co, Inc. In Association with South Carolina Educational Television Network. This is the story of General George Marshall's career. Between Allied leaders he was a diplomatic statesman, and was essential as a global leader in Washington D.C. He helped to guide President Truman in regards to the use of the Atom Bomb and the implementation of the Marshall Plan, which was a turning point to relations in Europe. He became President Truman's Secretary of State in 1947 and was influential prior and subsequent to the Korean War. During the War Marshall became Secretary of Defense and guided Truman to MacArthur's dismissal, and was vilified for his role in that decision. Retiring in 1951, Marshall won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953, for the creation of the Marshall Plan. VHS taoe.
